The beginning of July was all about friends coming to Prague. Close and dearest who you always wait for and who you always happy to see. The reason for the mass gathering of Ukrainians in Prague was Shrek's wedding on July, 5th. In total we expected 12 people coming from Ukraine and 2 from Poland-Germany. But Czech authorities decided a bit differently and Udaff, Burzhuy and Geothe didn't get visa with the same set of documents as Nemesh, Ryabchuks, Kesha and Dehtyarova had and they got their visas to the Czech Republic...
There was a whole visa story behind, we fought bravely but in the end fell in battle with bureaucracy and stupidity of the Schengen embassy officials...
Most of people had 2 weeks in Schengen area to spend and first part of those was devoted to Prague. On Thursday evening Nemesh, Ryabchuk and Tanya came to my place after having driven for almost the whole day. The couch in the kitchen was already prepared for them and we spent couple of hours chatting and drinking beers and "Becherovka" - kind of a "Czech welcome package" (smile).
And so the crazy and amazing time began!
Actually it began a bit earlier when I picked up Agniezska from the airport and the night she spent at our apartment. A little bit more of the details about her will come in some later posts.
On Friday morning at 6.30 I picked up Kesha and Dehtyaryova at the railway station and an hour later I called a self-sickness day at work to spend more time and a very great day with friends. Unfortunately, Yuliya couldn't do the same coz of some important meeting.
Friday weather was very sunny and windy. We took a tram downtown and walked along Vltava watching swans and ducks, taking lots of pictures of the birds, the city and us (smile).
We strolled all the way to the Charles Bridge and met there Lehkyy and Emma who had arrived to Prague a day earlier. It was really nice to meet Lehkyy's French girlfriend whom we actually had never seen but heard for a couple of years (smile).
Then on the Old Town Square we split, some went to shop, some to have dark Krusovice (smile). When we got back together we went up the hill to Kralovsky letohradek to begin our walk at Letna park and catch some of the greatest views over Prague.
After having a great meal at my favourite's "Smichovsky Radnicni Sklipek" we returned downtown and went to Strelecky island to get some of the peaceful resting time.
At 10p.m. all of us came to "The Pub" for the foreplay before the next day's action (smile). The place was cool and perfectly fit for the planned beer drinking. The cool things except of the fact that you have a beer pipe on your table were that you could order food directly through the touch-screen system, you could also order the music to be played priced only 5 CZK per song (~0.20 EUR), big screen in the bar showed the consumed amount of beer for each table establishing a competitive atmosphere to drink more and get ahead of the others. Then the competition was taken to Prague level and then to the national level showing the amount of beers drunk by the people in Brno, Karlovy Vary or Tabor...
Unfortunately, as I had already mentioned, we had lost the most valuable and suitable players for that kind of competition to the Schengen visa system and that was why we were not very highly ranked even in our pub in the end (smile). But still we had a really great time that evening! Tons of fun and incredible moments!
To be continued...
