Time X - Shrek and Michala's Wedding

1. PrepTime

On the morning of the Day X I woke up earlier that I should have and went to the Hotel Yalta straight on Wenceslas Square where all the preparation action on bridegroom's side was happening. Michala has asked me to participate in it and to take some photos to memorize the process (smile).

I arrived at 11 sharp and took an elevator to one of the top floors. There I got into the sacred room where Shrek's was having his pre-wedding worries and time. There I met his cousin, younger brother and, at last, his dad who played the role of the supporters.

I'd like better to skip writing stories about those 1.5h as they were really nothing special in term of story-telling. We had a shot or two of calvados, Shrek dressed up, Mom stopped by several times to check up if everything was fine, suit, pink tie, cool socks and even cooler shoes. All simple and very manly. No special stories, but lots of pictures.

And also they had an incredible view from the balcony!

2. The Ceremony

Then I got into the minibus for the family and we all went to Vrtbovska zahrada where the ceremony was about to be held. Everyone else arrived just on time and it all started...

And in an hour time it all ended (smile). Things worth mentioning that the ceremony had mostly only close friends and families, no large crowds (as in Ukraine), the place was perfect, a nice garden on the side of Petřin hill with lots of green, small fountain and magnificent view over Mala Strana.

About the ceremony - was not very long, consisting of the traditional elements like speech of the priest (a unitarian one) about love and life, Shrek's and Michala's wows both of which were funny and full of great things about both, instead of traditional scarf guys used my present to Shrek on his birthday - scarf of "Zenit FC" from St.Petersburg, his favourite football team. Actually, lots of things were connected with football - wedding was planned just before the World Championship so Shrek could watch it, wedding cake topper (see photo), Michala mentioned Shrek's craziness about football during her wow and so did Shrek... A bit crazy but very funny (smile).

After the ceremony newly married couple went for a photosession and all of us walked to the party place, restaurant "Manes" just in the centre of Prague on Vltava river.

3. The Party

The party started at around 5p.m. and lasted, I guess, till 1a.m. I'll skip lots of details about it as it'd take too many words to describe. In short - really great time, the best of such a kind in 2010 for sure. Imagine all your close friends, warm weather, great city, incredible ocasion, great place on the river, good food, great music and plenty of Ukraine-produced cold drinks... What could we wish more! And we didn't as we all enjoyed this perfect evening together with lots of pictures been taken, lots of jokes, lots of great small things about the wedding and lots of small moments that made it special for us and for Shrek and Michala.

Thanks guys for being an amazing couple and all the best in your new life together!
